Silo Pharma (NASDAQ: SILO), announced that the United States Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) has issued a Notice of Allowance for a patent application covering SPC-15, its lead intranasal therapeutic targeting post-traumatic stress disorder (“PTSD”). The invention, titled “Compositions and Methods for the Prevention of Stress-Induced Fear, Depressive-Like and Anxiety-Like Behavior,” includes composition and method claims related to the company proprietary therapeutic approach to preventing or delaying stress-induced behavioral responses. A corresponding patent was issued by the Japan Patent Office earlier this year.
A Notice of Allowance indicates that the USPTO has completed its examination and determined that the application meets the requirements for patentability and should be granted shortly. Silo said the U.S. patent protection is an important component of its strategy as it advances SPC-15 development for PTSD, adding to its biopharmaceutical intellectual property portfolio of issued and allowed patents.
