Frontieras North America is advancing construction of its first commercial-scale FASForm facility in Mason County, West Virginia, as growing electricity demand places increasing pressure on regional power markets. The company highlighted the latest capacity auction from PJM, which coordinates the power market across 13 states and Washington, D.C., where prices reached the federally approved cap of $325 per MW-day and capacity fell 6,831 MW short of PJM reliability requirement. Frontieras also noted that PJM independent market monitor attributed $6.3 billion of the auction $16.4 billion cost to data center demand.
Frontieras FASForm process is designed to fractionate American coal into products including hydrogen, diesel, jet fuel, naphtha and fertilizer without burning the coal itself. The company planned $850 million Mason County facility is under construction and backed by a $150 million institutional commitment from GEM. Frontieras inaugural Reg A+ offering previously reached its $25.7 million ceiling and attracted more than 10,000 shareholders, and the company has reserved the Nasdaq ticker “FASF” for its planned public listing.
