Nutriband (NASDAQ: NTRB), a developer of prescription transdermal pharmaceutical products, announced that it received a Sept. 2 Notice of Publication from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) for commercial brand name trademarks associated with its lead abuse-deterrent fentanyl transdermal system. The trademarks will be published in the USPTO Trademark Official Gazette and, if no objections are filed during the 30-day opposition period, the USPTO is expected to issue a Notice of Allowance. The fentanyl system incorporates Nutriband AVERSA(TM) abuse-deterrent transdermal technology and is being developed as a patch designed to deter abuse and misuse and reduce the risk of accidental exposure to transdermal fentanyl. Nutriband said the product has potential peak annual U.S. sales of $80 million to $200 million, while its AVERSA(TM) technology is protected by patents issued in 46 countries.
